This review contains spoilers. Last week I opened my review with a question asking if Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. had any vision for what it wants to be. This week I’m here once again wondering the exact same thing. What story is this show trying to tell? What are its essential themes? What is the idea they … Continue reading AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. Recap – “Spacetime”
This review contains spoilers. What happens when a creator becomes too attached to their creation? It’s something of a cliché, but there’s truth to the notion that writing stories is more akin to archaeology than architecture. It’s not construction, it’s unearthing something buried, and the more you dig, the more clear the picture becomes. But … Continue reading STAR WARS REBELS Recap – “Twilight of the Apprentice”
This review contains spoilers. What is the ultimate purpose of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.? Nearly every episode has had a clear purpose in moving the story forward, and … Continue reading STAR WARS REBELS Recap – “The Mystery of Chopper Base”
This review contains spoilers. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is such a weird goddamn show. Despite being a serialized prime time drama, the show is structured more like a sitcom with a consistent cast of characters being thrust into a new situation each week, often with little to no bearing on the events of the week prior. … Continue reading AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. Recap – “Parting Shot”
This review contains spoilers. For those of us who have grown up with Star Wars, and have remained fond of the series into adulthood, it can be easy to forget that we’re no longer exactly the intended audience. That statement might ruffle some feathers but it’s true; Star Wars is, and has always been, primarily … Continue reading STAR WARS REBELS Recap – “The Forgotten Droid”
This review contains spoilers. Mutants are a cornerstone fixture of the Marvel universe. If you have an ever-expanding universe of super people, the requirement to have an origin story for every one of them gets to be a bit daunting. Giving a percentage of the population super powers by birth solves that problem and opens … Continue reading AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. Recap – “The Inside Man”
Growing up, Indiana Jones was always my Star Wars. That’s not to say I didn’t like Star Wars – the fact that as an adult I’m writing weekly reviews for a Star Wars cartoon would indicate otherwise – but it was something that was part of my life from an age before I can even … Continue reading Top 5 Things I’d Like to See in INDIANA JONES 5
