The following excerpt contains my contributions to MiceChat’s Dateline Disneyland column, “Star Wars Season of the Force fails to launch as Disneyland ramps up for holiday crowds,” written by Andy Castro.
Hi, my name is David. You may know me from the summer I spent pretending to be a cowboy at Disneyland or that time I called the Parks and Resorts presentation at the 2015 D23 Expo a garbage fire. But I’m not here this week to talk about legendary outlaws or incendiary refuse, no I’m here to discuss that greatest of all drivers of internet traffic: Star Wars.
I’m going to cut to the chase and say that “Star Wars: Season of the Force” is a mixed bag with more bad than good currently in the mix. From the moment you enter Tomorrowland (which feels like the hairy wart marring Disneyland’s otherwise beautiful features on the best of days) you’re assaulted with Star Wars themed decorations that run the gamut from merely tacky all the way up to a declaration of war against good taste.
